Intitial Missive from the HST Memorial

Ladies and Gentleman:
No, No, No, You are just taking dictation. I mean Ho Ho Ho from a master dictator.
Alright now put a colon:
Hopefully one that's in better shape than mine.
Uhem
To Whom it May Concern,
There is an intersection, uhm, maybe Jackie Street and Robinson Blvd, where sport and soical justice conicide. There were enormous , possibly even earth shaking events there this past weekened. On Saturday, June 9, 2007, the brutal mile and a half Bellemont Stakes was won by a three year old girl. (Race goes to the strong.) On Sunday, in Montreal, the first black F-1 driver in history, who had qualified on the pole, won the Grand Prix de Canada at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. (Race goes to the swift.) Perhaps it is a quirk of mine to think that Jackie Robinson was as important a figure in the struggle for civil rights as was the great Martin Luther King. But maybe it isn't. I know that intersection. Marvin Miller lives there, and had me up for a drink once. (Jim Bouton gave me his address.) The F-1 guy, Lewis Hamlton, eight points in the lead for the World Driving Championship, races in the US Gran Prix at Indianpolis this coming weekend. The threee year old girl, Rags to Riches, has a few weeks to recover before racding in the Travers Stakes at The Saratoga Meet later this summer. Watch this space. The races go to the strong and the swift, and in the end the only race that matters is the human race.
Danica Patrick, it's just a matter of time girl. And somewhere, Curt Flood is smiling. Everybody rev up their engines, it's going to be a real interesting season .
Over and Out.
